Sulit Tips for EK First Timers

Enchanted Kingdom has been bringing magic to Filipino families for almost 22 years and until now, we are committed in spreading this magic and happiness to everyone. And if you are one of those who haven’t visited the most magical place in the Philippines yet, let Eldar’s apprentices give you sulit tips on how to enjoy  a whole day at the park.

  • Check out and remember the locations of our numerous drinking fountains scattered around the park

Walking around the park and enjoying all the rides can leave you thirsty more often than normal – especially with all the shouting from the EKstremely thrilling rides. We have predicted and prepared for this. To make sure you don’t get dehydrated and continue having fun, several drinking stations are located around the park. Drink water to your heart’s content- it’s FREE! Earth friendly parKAnd if you want to drink something cold and more flavorful, you can choose from a wide array of refreshing drinks at any of the EK food outlets in the park.

  • Buy the Regular Package ticket

You get to enjoy an all day pass to all the attractions at the park (except gated attractions) and a quick but amazing flight around the Philippines via the AGILA; the EKsperience, and you can even save 200 pesos!* Enjoy unlimited use of all rides. So that’s so sulit!

*(compared to buying a separate single ride AGILA ticket and a regular park ticket)

  • Take time to stroll around the park in search of the most delicious and most sulit food at the park
    Food Choices at Enchanted Kingdom

Food booths, like the Disk-O-Dine near the Disk-O-Magic, abound in the park.

Bringing in of outside food disrupts the magic at the park, but you don’t need to worry about going hungry. There are many food choices around the park and you don’t need to burn a hole through your pockets to satisfy your hunger. Arm yourself with a map and even before you go hungry, walk around the park to look for the perfect food for your budget. Or you can check out THIS LINK before your visit.

  • Keep an eye out and take advantage of EK’s seasonal promos

Eldar and his apprentices often feel generous to first time park goers and regularly offer promos to make the park even more accessible and affordable to the public. Get huge savings on park tickets, that also come with surprise freebies, especially if you visit with your friends or family. Bookmark THIS PAGE for updates.

  • EKsperience the Magic Card

The EKsperience the Magic Card is EK’s loyalty card that allows guests to enjoy a whole year of unlimited park admission. It comes with a membership kit, EKsclusive treats, discounts and more! Know more about this offer HERE!

This offer is so sulit because based on our experience, a day is not enough to enjoy all the attractions at Enchanted Kingdom. This is especially good for first timers, because no matter how many times you screamed at the Space Shuttle, or how many times you left your heart at the top of EKstreme Tower, or how many times you get splashed on at the Rio Grande Rapids, or how many times you felt like you will be thrown away by the Disk-O-Magic only to be pulled back suddenly, each ride leaves you coming back for more. Instead of buying regular package tickets every time you visit, just EKsperience the Magic Card.

  • Have a magical birthday at EK!

Did you know that you can enter the park for free on your birthday? And not just enter the park, you get to enjoy all the rides of course. What can be more sulit than that? Let your first time at EK be the most memorable one. Go with your friends and they get to enjoy the park with you at a 10% discount. That’s what’s more sulit! Celebrate your special day with Eldar but remember the magic lasts only within 6 days of your birthday. So plan your birthday right and let the magic stay with you until your next birthday!

Enchanted Kingdom Partners with DTI to Promote World-Class Philippine Products

As part of its advocacy to promote world-class Filipino craftsmanship and creativity, Enchanted Kingdom (EK) recently sealed a partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement that formalizes the setting up of a Go Lokal shop at the country’s premiere theme park.  The partnership agreement was signed by EK’s Chairman and President Mario O. Mamon and Chief Operating Officer Dr. Cynthia R. Mamon, the DTI Industry Promotion Group Undersecretary  Nora K. Terrano and Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion Director Rhodora Leano.

The Go Lokal shop is a project of the DTI which aims to mainstream local and indigenous handcrafted products from different regions around the Philippines by partnering with the private sector, particularly those connected with the tourism industry. At Enchanted Kingdom, the souvenir shop will be located at the “Pugad” or merchandise-selling section of the Agila: The EKsperience attraction, the country’s first and only Flying Theater which features patented motion picture technology that simulates the sensation of flying like an eagle through the country’s scenic tourist spots.

Usec. Terrano explains that the Go Lokal initiative is an innovation that stems from the agency’s long-running One Town One Product (OTOP) program, which highlights products made by the country’s MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises).  “These products are usually highlighted at our trade fairs such as the Manila FAME or the National Trade Fair, which only lasts for a few days. With Go Lokal, we get to mainstream the products and make sure that it is available to local and foreign buyers every day. This way, our suppliers with small businesses will have more access to their market.” She is thankful for the support given by EK to the initiative, “We share the same objectives of bringing to the fore excellent products and services of the Philippines. EK is one of those invaluable partners that we see as having the same commitment and passion for helping the high-quality products from our MSMEs achieve global reach.”

Go Lokal productsMr. Mamon says that Go Lokal is a perfect fit for the Agila: The EKsperience advocacy. “With Go Lokal, we are able to showcase the homegrown products of the country in a different and exciting setting. We hope that through this endeavour and partnership, we will be able to help out with the livelihood programs of the communities that make the products. It fits into the thrust of EK’s latest world-class offering, as the theatre showcases the sights and sounds of the country while the retail shop showcases the beautiful craftsmanship and culture of our different regions.”

Dr. Cynthia R. Mamon, Chief operating Officer of EK and a recipient of the FWN 100 Influential Filipina Women in the World award together with Usec. Terrano, is equally as passionate and aggressive about supporting Filipino products, especially those created by indigenous people. “As EK supports the conservation of the endangered Philippine Eagle through a partnership with the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF), now through this landmark partnership with the DTI, we are supporting entrepreneurs out in the provinces to promote their products and gain access to access a wider market.” EK has had close to 2 million visitors to the park, and Dr. Mamon forecasts even more substantial numbers with the launching of the much-awaited Agila theatre attraction.

You Have the Elements in Your Heart – The AGILA Advocacy

Agila or the Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi), also called Haribon  – the king of the birds, our country’s national bird, a symbol of strength, courage, resilience and freedom that aptly resembles our country and its people. It is after this mighty bird that Enchanted Kingdom chose to name our new attraction, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. AGILA:the EKsperience.

Why AGILA? You may ask. Well, aside from the reason stated above, this attraction is so named because riding it would make you soar like an Agila and see the Philippines in a very different and exciting way. AGILA:the EKsperience is the first and only flying theater in the country.  Housed in an iconic 9-storey high, glass encased structure with a 2,000-square meter park footprint, it is the largest single flying theater of its kind in the world. It employs a patented motion-theater technology to simulate the most life-like flight of an eagle, complete with sensations of wind, water, mist, scents and shakers that heighten the realism of flight and complete the magical EKsperience.

The Philippine Eagle is one of the country’s national treasures and source of national pride. It is the largest of all eagles in terms of length and wing surface and considered as one of the most powerful birds in the world. And this majestic bird is only found in the Philippines. How cool and awesome is that? We Filipinos have one of the largest birds in the world! And now, we have the largest flying theater in this part of the world too! Doesn’t it make your heart soar with pride?

AGILA:The EKsperience serves as a symbol of EK’s commitment to foster this sense of national pride.
After flying with AGILA over breathtaking beaches, waterfalls and rivers, and gliding across islands, mountains and volcanoes to see and feel the beauty and diversity of the Philippines, one cannot help but feel a sense of pride and rekindle the burning love for the country.

Sadly, our national bird is also critically endangered. And this is what makes AGILA: the EKsperience more than just an attraction.

AGILA:the EKsperience not only aims to entertain but also to equip you with the ability to find the elements in your heart and heed the call for help of the mighty Agila. Yes, the Agila is in danger, yes, it is calling you and yes, you can make a difference. Absolutely! Awareness is the first step towards change. By being aware of this problem and making more people aware of the plight of these majestic birds, you are taking one important step towards helping them.

The Philippine eagle is crying out for your help in saving their homes, and saving their lives. This may seem too big a task for one person like you, but with the help of AGILA:the EKsperience through EK in partnership with the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF), anyone can make an impact. Enchanted Kingdom has already started supporting this advocacy by adopting an eaglet which was named Enchanting Kagitingan. And a special Galleria ni Agila is also featured in the park to let people know more about the Agila and the steps PEF are making to protect and preserve their species.

And on top of that, part of the proceeds from the ticket sales of Agila goes to the PEF. So by simply enjoying the sights and sounds of AGILA:the EKsperience, you’ve already done a big feat in helping the Philippine Eagle. “Wow! I can help just by riding and enjoying AGILA the EKsperience?”

Remember, you have the elements in your heart. Look to yourself and ask yourself, how else can I help save the Agila? What can I do, in my own little way, to help restore their homes and prevent it from further destruction? Find these answers and do them. And it would be even better if you’ll share.

And with your help, the Agila can Live On, thru Enchanted Kingdom and in the forests of the Philippines!

8 Things People Love About EK’s Agila: The EKsperience
Agila The EKsperience

Your ticket to a magical flight of a lifetime.

From the time you scan your Agila card to enter its grounds until the time you go back to the main area of the park, Agila: The EKsperience is one attraction that will keep you in a state of EKscitement and wonder. We’ve asked some park goers who experienced the magic what they liked about Agila and we condensed and compiled them into this list, in no particular order. *Minor Spoiler Alert*

  1. Majestic Building

You have to crane your neck all the way up to try to figure out what exactly Agila is. And even then, you would have a hard time to see the big picture. No, the building does not look like a Philippine Eagle. From afar (it can be seen from the South Luzon Expressway), it looks like an ordinary sports stadium. But standing right next to it, one can see that it is a one of a kind glass building that you can’t help but take a picture of, and take a picture with. With yellow pillars all around it, it kind of looks like an oversized toy top.
It turns out, the structure itself, if seen from an Agila’s eye view (top view), is built to resemble the sun in the Philippine flag, with its 8 rays even! Capturing it fully in all its majestic grandeur is one extra challenge.

  1. Talking to Eldar

We usually see Eldar the magical wizard roaming around the streets of the park, occasionally greeting numerous park goers. Other times, you can visit him in his workshop at a set time. We can also hear his voice all over the park from time to time, greeting park goers and making announcements. So what makes this extra special and why is talking to Eldar one of the things people liked about Agila? Lend me your ear, because if we tell you, we’d have to… just kidding. You’d just have to find out about this when you visit Agila. But one word, Awe-Mazing!

Eldars Workshop in one of the pre-shows at Agila:the EKsperience

  1. PUGAD

In line with its commitment to promoting Philippine pride, EK opens the doors to Agila’s crib, PUGAD. Just like how Agila:The EKsperience brings the country’s top tourist spots together, Pugad aims to gather all the home-grown products from all over the Philippines to one location.

Pugad is actually the merchandise-selling section/souvenir shop of Agila:The EKsperience. But aside from the shirts and other common souvenir items, locally made products are also featured here.

  1. Large Screen

In regular cinemas, the viewers need to buy their tickets in advance to have the best seat in the house. If you choose wrongly, or in most cases, left with no choice, you would have to endure the whole movie experience craning your neck or squinting your eyes.

Agila:the EKsperience lets you enjoy the short film wherever you may be seated, thanks to its 544-sq meter screen, said to be the largest in Southeast Asia.

  1. Edutainment = Education + Entertainment

Watching a 6-minute film of Philippine tourist spots may sound tedious, and may feel more like a school assignment than a theme park attraction. Good thing Enchanted Kingdom turned your boring geography quiz into a flight of a lifetime. Students coming out of the flying theater look like they have just gone from a field trip to another world, leaving them utterly speechless! And aside from the life-like experience, a sense of pride in the beauty of their country is unknowingly planted in their hearts.

  1. Life-like Flying Sensation

Similar to the sensations experienced in the Rialto Theater wherein the audience also experience the same rolling feeling in their seats when characters onscreen get tossed around, Agila:the EKsperience goes above and beyond by letting the guest experience a flight of a lifetime.

Whatever you imagined flying above the sea, land and gliding in the air, complete with mist from the clouds, splash of the sea water, and the fragrance of the flowers. That’s precisely the feeling you get when you take flight with the Agila, probably.

  1. The Mural

Waiting but not waiting at Agila:the EKsperience

The floor to ceiling mural showing a glimpse of the beauty of the Philippines is painted vividly, making it look like a glass aquarium, or a glass window looking out to the Chocolate Hills of Bohol. The mural often serves as a photo wall for passengers waiting in line. This, combined with the LED screen that shows the history of AGILA: The EKsperience makes the wait seem faster and lessens the boredom of the people going into the flying theater.

  1. Mag-Anak (a Driftwood Sculpture of the Eagle Family)

(Click here for more detailed narrative about the fascinating story behind Mag-Anak)

Another eye-catching attraction within the attraction is the Mag-Anak, a sculpture of an eagle family with the mother and father eagle taking care of their baby eagle. It is a glimpse of the eagle’s life in the wild, brought to life by master craftsman James Doran Webb from scattered driftwood he collected or purchased from wood gatherers.

Because of the overwhelming presence of the mural, the sculpture would probably catch your eye a little later. But once it does, you’d wish that you could also fly so you can see it up close. Mounted 6 meters above the ground, Mag-Anak perfectly captures the majestic presence of the Philippine eagle. It is like a family guardian looking over all the park goers waiting to ride the Agila.

20 of the Best Tourist Spots of the Philippines

Of course, this is what everyone loves about the Agila. That’s why it gets the special mention. Compressed in a 6-minute film that will leave you clamoring for more, 20 of the many tourist spots in the Philippines are shown in a different way. Have you ever been up close and personal with Mayon Volcano?

It is far from the postcard perfect photos or even videos we see on the internet, because well, flying above and through each tourist spot is really a one of a kind adventure. And something that no words can describe accurately, so you just have to EKsperience it yourself.

Enchanted Kingdom Launches the First Flying Theater in Southeast Asia

After four years of conceptualization, design and manufacture, 16 months of construction, and a collective 100,000 man-days of about 400 dedicated individuals, Enchanted Kingdom, the country’s only world-class theme park has unveiled its largest and most ambitious flagship attraction.
Soar high above and through the clouds at AGILA:
The EKsperience.

After opening its first 7D Interactive Motion Theater in the Philippines, our favorite theme park once again exceeded our expectations and standards by launching the first-ever flying theater in Southeast Asia, the Agila: The EKsperience.

Agila: The EKsperience is the largest flying theater in the world to date in terms of seating capacity, accommodating 105 guests per ride cycle. The structure is a 9-storey building with a high ceiling that hides a big bag of surprises and magic. The theater itself boasts of a 544-square meter movie screen, magnifying and highlighting the beauty of the Philippines in the six-minute multi-sensory film. And by multi-sensory, it means not just watching a film with one or two senses, rather, EKsperiencing the film fully. It employs patented motion-theater technology to simulate the most life-like flight of an eagle, complete with sensations of wind, water, mist, scents and shakers that heighten the realism of flight and complete the magical EKsperience.

A fascinating nature story uses stunning aerial cinematography to capture a most vividly brilliant montage of 20 breathtaking locations from Batanes to Cagayan de Oro. Guests “fly with Agila” over breathtaking beaches, swoop down raging rapids, and glide across incredible islands to marvel at magnificent panoramas from the extraordinary vantage point of the mighty Agila.

AGILA will be the only Filipino themed attraction of this scale and magnitude, and symbolizes EK’s commitment to build national pride in the best of the Philippines. Aimed at bringing Filipino Pride, the community, and technology together, Agila:the EKsperience also aims to promote and support the conservation efforts of the Philippine Eagle Foundation to protect the Agila and conserve and rehabilitate its forest habitats.

Immerse yourself in this adventure only here at AGILA. Always remember that you’re never too old to see the wonders of the Philippines and today is your time to make plans to finally see the country’s breathtaking scenery.

Visit Agila: The EKsperience at Enchanted Kingdom today and fly on the wings of magic.

Hanggang Saan Aabot ang 1000 Pesos Mo?

We’ve seen the ad, for 20 pesos, you can’t buy a balloon, but instead can get a bubble-from-a-gum balloon.  Twenty pesos won’t get you into a nice club, but the bouncer can light up the floor for you. You better just buy ice cream.

So how far can your one thousand pesos get you? Think about this, a 1,000-peso bill, once you’ve had it changed, disappears far too quickly without you even noticing where it went. Try spending it at the supermarket. It could get you half a basket of grocery items, or one basket, if you have great budgeting skills. A sumptuous meal for two at a mid class restaurant or a family meal for 5 at a fast food chain? One thousand pesos can get a state university student from Monday breakfast to Friday dinner and all the printed papers and photocopying fees in between.

But would you believe me if I tell you that your one thousand pesos could get you to twenty tourist destinations in the Philippines? Yes, you read that right, twenty destinations, from up north in Batanes to down south in Cagayan de Oro. Not possible you say? Well here at Enchanted Kingdom, where the magic lives forever, we can and we have already made it happen.

True to its mission of bringing magical experience and happiness to every park goer, EK transforms your 1000 pesos to a flight of a lifetime thru Agila: The EKsperience. The first of its kind in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia, this attraction flies you through 20 different tourist destinations in the country that would make your eyes glow with wonder and your heart soar with pride at the beauty of the Philippines.

Can your 1000 pesos take you to greater heights? Here at EK, it can!

Glide through the picturesque meadow and lighthouse of Batanes, or get splashed by the raging rapids at the Cagayan de Oro River. Have a sneak peak at the world-renowned Loboc Children’s Choir as they sing and cruise along the Loboc River in Bohol on a floating restaurant. Get up close and marvel at one of the wonders of the world, Banaue Rice Terraces minus the long land travel. Don’t forget the awesome lagoon in Coron Palawan. All these and more await you at EK’s Agila: the EKsperience.

And the fun doesn’t end there!
After that wonderful trip around the Philippines, you can still enjoy a full day and night at the park and ride the attractions to your heart’s content. And if you’re lucky, you can even witness the fireworks display to cap a magical day.

So, are you convinced that your 1000 pesos can go a long way? And actually, you’d still have money left for snack and drinks at any of the food stands at Enchanted Kingdom.

And the magic stays with you!

New Year, New Perspective: Appreciating the Philippines in a Magical Land

We all aspire to have positive changes in our lives. And the New Year somehow brings out this desire in us more strongly, making hashtags like #newyear #newme, #changeforthebetter #foreverforward #fitnessgoals, #squadgoals and all other goals and New Year’s Resolutions hashtags popular during this time of the year.

But in reality, change doesn’t happen overnight, and with our impatient personalities, we end up putting these resolutions on hold, to be remembered again next New Year. It takes a great amount of effort to change a person but instead of saying “New Year, New Me”, why not say, “New Year, New Perspective”? One step at a time. If we start changing our perspective towards life and remain positive, our actions and decisions will follow and we surely can have the positive change we’ve been setting our sights on.

In the same way, we as a nation have been clamoring for change for as long as we can remember. We’ve been praying for an improvement that always seems to be out of reach. But if we really look at ourselves, how much are we willing to change ourselves for our country? Are we willing to change our perspective of the Philippines? Looking at the Philippines in a new light would be a good start in appreciating the country more, and eventually be the agent of change it needs. And Enchanted Kingdom might just be able to help you with that.

In this magical land where Eldar the Wizard roams, a familiar character has been sighted flying around. And we heard that this creature can help bring back and ignite the fire for change in the hearts of Filipinos young and old. What’s more, it can also spread the magic of flight! Peter Pan once said that thinking happy thoughts can make you fly. And EK’s new family member has plenty of happy thoughts about the Philippines for everyone, making these visitors fly on the wings of magic. Friends and apprentices, let us all welcome AGILA.

Appreciating the Philippines

AGILA is Eldar’s newest friend and family member at Enchanted Kingdom. AGILA loves flying and touring the country. Seeing the view from above gives AGILA a different perspective from all of us, and the good news is you can also EKsperience this!

Ride the wings of our friend AGILA and fly over and through 20 of the most beautiful places in the Philippines through AGILA: the EKsperience, the newest and grandest attraction at EK to date. This new ride is guaranteed to leave you breathless with awe and wonder at the multi-sensory presentation of the Philippines. With AGILA’s large wing span and powerful flaps, flying from Batanes to Cagayan de Oro will take you only 6 minutes.

So be prepared to be taken off your feet and fly as AGILA: The EKsperience takes you to greater heights and helps you appreciate the Philippines in the magical land that is Enchanted Kingdom. Parachutes and life jackets not needed, just fasten your seat belt and enjoy the flight!

Ride the AGILA and Change the Way You Look at the Philippines

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” -Wayne Dyer

Blessed with more than 7,000 islands, the Philippines is home to more than 2,000 species of fish, more than 600 species of resident and migratory birds, more than 200 species of mammals, more than 50 species of bats, and almost 100 culturally and linguistically distinct ethnic groups. That’s almost 10,000 reasons to love the country and be proud to be a Filipino. But not everyone knows these facts, and not everyone appreciates how beautiful our country is.

It may be hard for many to see the beauty in a country rife with negativity, but just because we don’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not there. Beauty is all around you. You just need to open your eyes wider, and let your heart soar. Enchanted Kingdom’s newest and grandest attraction yet, Agila The EKsperience, lets you do that, soar like an eagle and see the best of the Philippines.

True to its mission of providing magical experiences and happiness to all its park goers, EK outdoes itself this time by touring you to the best and most popular tourist spots in the Philippines through the magic of flying.

Agila The EKsperience takes you to greater heights and stimulates all your senses to help you change the way you look at the Philippines and once more make you realize that dreams do come true.

As children, we have studied and maybe even asked to memorize popular tourist spots in the Philippines. Our textbooks show pictures of the smallest volcano in Taal Lake, Chocolate Hills in Bohol that change colors during dry and wet season, the majestic Maria Cristina Falls in Mindanao which also provides electricity to its nearby areas, Hundred Islands in Pangasinan, and many other beautiful places. We may have dreamed of one day counting all of the one hundred islands in Pangasinan while riding a boat and looking out for dolphins that might join us in our travels. Perhaps once, we imagined riding an airplane and looking out the window to see the perfect conic shape of Mayon Volcano while its mouth continues to spit out smoke. Or maybe we secretly wished for the ability to fly even for a day.

Children would often dream of being able to fly, of soaring high like the birds and looking down at places and people that they see every day. Some children even go to great (and dangerous) lengths just to make this dream come true, inventing wings and jumping from trees and roofs. But growing up happened and we left our childhood dreams and wings behind, and most regrettably, we put our pride in our country in the back burner.

Agila The EKsperience helps you see the Philippines as you’ve never seen it before, rekindle that burning love for your country that got buried by everyday negativity, and give new meaning to the phrase Proud to be Filipino. But most importantly, Enchanted Kingdom gives all of us a chance to make a difference – to not only be proud to be a Filipino but to be a part of the pride of the Philippines.
